There are 2 ways to add someone to your account.
You can either:
- add another person’s name to your statements (you'll both be liable for your energy payments)
- add another person to your account who can act for you
Adding another person’s name to your statements
This means you’ll both be liable for your energy payments. You may want to do this for proof of address, or to show that you live together.
The other person's name will only be added to your statements. They won’t be able to sign in to or manage your Bulb account.
If you pay for your energy monthly, you can add another person to your statements in your Bulb account in ‘Account settings’, under the ‘Payment settings’ section.
If you have a top-up meter (also called prepay), send us a message, including the email address of the person you'd like to add to your statements.
Adding another person to your account so they can act for you
You can add another person as a contact to your Bulb account. You may want to do this for extra help managing your energy. They can contact Bulb on your behalf about your account. But they won’t be legally responsible for your payments.
To do this, send an email to email@example.com from the email address you use for your Bulb account, and 'Cc' the person you want to add to the account. In the email, tell us the other person’s name and that you want to add them to your account.
We'll confirm with the second person that they want to be added to the account. We can only add them if they agree.
You can also do this by phone when you're both together. Call us on 0300 30 30 635 from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
