The Feed-in Tariff is a government backed scheme allowing energy suppliers to pay households that produce their own electricity. It pays for energy produced by renewable generation equipment such as solar photovoltaic panels, wind turbines or micro combined heat and power (micro-CHP).

The scheme closed on 1st April 2019, but you can still register for payments if your renewable generation equipment was certified by 31st March 2019. To find out when your renewable energy equipment was certified, check the top of your MCS certificate.

You must register by 31st March 2020 to get the payments.
