Ofgem classes your property as a relevant building if:
- It has a roof and walls
- It uses energy to heat or cool it
We need to know if your property was a relevant building on the date your installation was commissioned.
You can find your installation commissioning date on your MCS Certificate under the ‘Installation’ section.
If your property was a new build when your installation was installed, this might be a bit confusing. You can use the date of your Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) to help. If your installation commissioning date is before the date of your EPC, this could mean your property was a non-relevant building when your installation was installed.
