My smart meter's In-Home Display has frozen, what should I do?

If the data shown on your In-Home Display (IHD) hasn't updated for a few days and the screen doesn't respond when you press the IHD's buttons, it might have lost its connection to your smart meter.

Follow these steps to reconnect your IHD:

  1. Unplug the IHD and let it run out of power completely. You'll know it's out of power when the screen goes blank and won't wake up if you press any buttons on the front.
  2. Leaving the IHD unplugged, restart it by pressing the round, flat button on the back. This will start the device using its emergency power reserve.
  3. Let the emergency power reserve run out completely. You'll know it's run out if the IHD doesn't power on if you push the button on the back again.
  4. Plug the IHD in to recharge it, then switch it back on. This should make your IHD reconnect to your smart meter.
